It was announced today that the top goal-scorer in the Champions Youth Cup will receive the Roberto Bettega Trophy.
When President of G -14 he was the inspiration behind the tournament. Bettega is the epitomy of what the Champions Youth Cup stands for. Born in 1950 he joined Juve's Primavera in 1961 and made his first team debut in 1970.
The "white feather" went on to make on to make 326 appearances for Juve scoring 129 goals. He also was capped 42 times for Italy scoring 19 goals.
Regarded as a player of intelligence and great bravery both on and on the pitch he was one of the world’s most feared strikers and should act as a great role-model and inspiration for the young players involved in this unique new tournament.
