The Reincarnation of Iron Maiden

The Reincarnation of Iron Maiden
New single, new album and new direction from rock gods Iron Maiden. Single out on 14th August.
After 30 years of metal god-dom, you should know by now that Iron Maiden are no ordinary band. While most bands take their time between records, Iron Maiden are already back with new material after releasing the massive Death on the Road last year.
'The Reincarnation of Benjamin Breeg' is released on 14th August and is the first track to be taken from their new album A Matter of Life and Death. The track represents a new direction for Iron Maiden as they experiment with a progressive sound.
Steve Harris says, 'Benjamin Breeg' is a great example of the feel of the album in its really heavy riff and lyrically it’s very dark, atmospheric and powerful song.' It will be released on a very Limited Edition two-track CD featuring the single and a B-side of 'Hallowed Be Thy Name' which was recorded at Radio 1 'Legends' Session. It will also be released on 7 coloured vinyl in a picture bag with a collectable sticker of the 'Crossed Guns’ logo.
Of course the artwork will feature the band’s mascot Eddie the skeleton so keep your eyes peeled for another memorable cover.Meanwhile, the album features songs that were written at the end of 2005 after their festival appearances in Europe and the USA.
The album was produced by Kevin 'Caveman' Shirley at Sarm West Studios in London. He's previously co-produced three of their former studio albums and their relationship just gets stronger and stronger.
Steve says: 'In terms of the material, we've also pushed our boundaries yet again and I think it will please our fans but also really surprise a lot of people.'The ten-track album arrives in early September.
